UnderNYC.com was given the opportunity to interview Ryan and Thomas, the guys behind Project 46. After reaching #70 in the DJ Mag’s DJ Top 100 poll, their success skyrocketed, landing them over 100 live shows just this past year. Project 46 has collaborated with big names from Kaskade and Laidback Luke to Paul Oakenfold, while also securing a large fan base through their easily downloadable music from Soundcloud. On May 22, they are the headliners for the charity event dedicated to pediatric cancer: Sean Lives On, founded by Zach Kardisch.
The Sean Lives On charity concert will be held at Highland Ballroom in NYC May 22nd 2014. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go towards fighting pediatric cancer, a notion inspired by Long Island native Sean Riley; a teenager who was diagnosed with cancer and lost the battle in 2007.

Becky:
It’s great to have you guys on your way to the “Sean Lives On” charity event in New York, you both must be very busy between the Collide tour and your new album dropping later this year. Do you have a date scheduled for your debut album release yet?
Project 46:
It’s always amazing to in New York City, so we’re happy to be back. We really don’t know when we are going to have the album fully released but should have a release date for the first single very very soon!
Becky:
Your tour looks really impressive: performing in Ibiza twice, the Asian tour segment in China, etc. What is the location/venue that has been a highlight so far? Alternately, what location are you both looking forward to the most?
Project 46:
There has been so many amazing stops so far but I think you nailed it when you said Ibiza. We’ve never been and are really looking forward to visiting the island.
Becky:
By the time you guys come to New York you would have experienced the crowd in Leeds, UK. How does the energy there compare to NY?
Project 46:
Leeds was a lot of fun. We found Leeds enjoyed more of the big room groovy stuff that you would find people like Axwell and Kyrder play. We adjusted our set a bit and it went well.
Becky:
What is a typical day in the life of Project 46 like when you aren’t on tour? A lot of hard work in the studio?
Project 46:
If we’re not in the studio and Thomas isn’t golfing, we’re probably trying to catch up on sleep.
Becky:
What is the time commitment and creative process behind mixing these hour-long podcasts for your Soundcloud?
Project 46:
We’ve really dropped the ball recently on the mixes… We’ve just been way too busy! We’re going to relaunch Pancake Radio as a monthly show so we can do a better job at staying on top of it.
Becky:
You guys are known for having worked with Paul Oakenfold, Kaskade, and Laidback Luke, out of everyone you two have worked with who impressed you the most?
Project 46:
To be honest, working with DubVision was super impressive. The guys are so talented and our track turned out so well. Soundwell is pretty amazing as well.
Becky:
What does the rest of 2014 look like after the end of the Collide tour, and the drop of your album?
Project 46:
Hopefully the start of an album tour. We’re definitely excited to share the music we have been working on for so long with everyone!
Special thanks to Project 46 and the Sean Lives On team.
